Kankakee Valley Falls to South Bend Washington - Other Area Scores
For the second time in three weeks, Kankakee Valley's football team let a late fourth quarter lead slip away, losing last Friday 14-7 to South Bend Washington in the first game at the new KV football stadium.
Rensselaer Central scored late to upend the Kougars 13-9 in week one.
Taron Bradshw's two-yard touchdown with 5:43 remaining erased a 7-6 deficit and gave the Panthers their second win of the season against one loss.
KV falls to 1-2.
The lone score for the Kougars came late in the first half on a 27-yard pass from quarterback Eli Carden to receiver Reece Williams. Carden finished 5 of 13 passing for 81 yards. Nathan Swafford gained 99 yards on the ground on 24 carries.
Ryan Tinnel had two interceptions for KV, which will be at home again this Friday against North Newton.
